New GR lens

Super-slim, high-performance GR lens

The GR IV incorporates a newly designed 18.3mm F2.8 GR lens (equivalent to 28mm in 35mm format), delivering exceptional imaging performance with a slim design. Consisting of seven optical elements in five groups, the latest optics incorporate glass-molded aspherical lens elements — including a large-diameter element used as the final lens — and high-refraction, low-dispersion glass elements to deliver high-contrast, high-resolution images with edge-to-edge sharpness, while minimizing distortion and chromatic aberration.

New Image Sensor & Engine

Accurate reproduction, rich tones, and high-sensitivity performance.

The newly designed back-illuminated APS-C-size CMOS image sensor with approximately 25.74 effective megapixels, delivers exceptionally high-quality images rich in resolution and gradation. The newly developed GR ENGINE 7 reflects the rich information from the GR LENS and the image sensor in the image, without any loss in quality. The faster processing speed also improves the overall response of the camera.

Enhanced SR (Shake Reduction)

Powerful snapshot capabilities with 5-axis, 6-step Image Stabilization

The GR IV features 5-axis image stabilization. In addition to conventional angular and rotational blur, it also corrects shift blur, which tends to be noticeable during close-up shooting. A fully developed correction algorithm delivers enhanced performance up to 6.0* steps when converted to shutter speed.* Up to 6.0 steps at the center, and up to 4.0 steps on the periphery. CIPA 2024 standard compliant. Yaw/Pitch/Roll correction performance.

Slimmer Design

Compact, slim and functional body design

The GR IV offers enhanced performance in a compact, slim body. The grip is deeper for a more secure hold. The shape of the grip and the rear thumb rest have been optimized for a form that naturally molds itself to your hand. The button and dial layout has also been improved, delivering enhanced mobility.

Quick Response

Finely Honed Responsiveness

Simply pick up the camera and you are ready to shoot. The new lens barrel and optimized start-up sequence gives the GR IV the fastest start-up time of the GR series at approx. 0.6 seconds.

The newly designed GR LENS delivers exceptional imaging performance. The lens barrel and optimized start-up sequence reduce the start-up time to approximately 0.6 seconds— the shortest in GR-series history!

The GR IV’s body has been thoroughly redesigned, offering enhanced performance in a compact and slimmer body, while layout of control buttons and dials have been redesigned, improving the camera’s functionality. It delivers high-quality, high-resolution images with intuitive, responsive snapshot operation, making it an excellent choice for snapshot photography.
